Nature of Work
Perform technical/functional, minor/major repair and maintenance tasks for industrial, on-road, and other power/electrical driven equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all full range and most complex preventative maintenance, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair duties of the Mechanic Class including after hour emergency requests.
  • Perform diagnostic of vehicles such as but not limited to Class A Semi Trucks and Trailers, Pickup, etc.
  • Assist with meeting required equipment maintenance standards, schedules, and quality of work.
  • Assist with DOT inspections, repairs, and paperwork.
  • Ensure that all data entry is current and accurate, including labor, sublet, and materials.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with managers, supervisors, subordinates, and peers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Amend and adapt procedures to reflect ongoing changes in company operations and data requirements.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Work Safely always following all Safety processes and procedures.
  • Time Management-Managing one’s own time and the time of others.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 2 years direct mechanic experience with on-road and/or farm-related industrial equipment. Must have proven experience and working knowledge of industrial power-driven equipment, including Semi trucks and Yard trucks, various branded on road power units, electrical/diesel/lp warehouse and rough terrain forklifts, aerial man lifts and scissor lifts, golf carts, and heavy earth moving equipment. Must be cooperative and be a team player, able to communicate and coordinate work within the department as well as outside departments. Must be positive and professional to all employees, customers, visitors, and vendors. Must have strong decision-making skills that promote safe working conditions, timely/efficient repairs, and accurate accounting of labor and materials. Must be able to train and re-train all mechanical trades. Requires a current, valid CA driver’s license with no driving violations and must be auto insurable.  Must read and write English. Bi-lingual a plus (English/Spanish). Must be capable of working with minimum supervision. Must pass a drug/ alcohol screen, physical, and functional capacity evaluation. Must be able to read and comprehend Safety manuals/material and task instructions. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in extreme climates (such as hot or cold weather climate). Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Continually Standing /Walking for extended periods of time (sometimes on uneven surfaces).
  • Continually Stooping/Crouching, Reaching and Twisting/Turning.
  • Occasionally Climbing ladder or steps.
  • Frequently use Leg/foot if using loader or forklift (must be trained & certified).
  • Continually Handling/Grasping and pushing/pulling items in yard while sorting materials.
  • Frequently Lifting/carrying or otherwise transporting materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Continually making repetitive motions.
  • Occasionally will operate equipment/tools/vehicles such as forklift, loader, etc. (must be safety trained & hold certification).
  • Frequently works in extreme weather (cold or hot temperatures) at times depending on time of year (climate).
  • Occasionally may be exposed to hazardous conditions.
  • Occasionally this position must work extended hours (up to 12 hours in a shift starting in the early morning).
  • Must be able to work Monday through Saturday.
